Finally! I have a new endless running game to play, now that I am getting bored of Temple Run. However, it looks like I'll be continuing that adventure as Imangi Studios has finally introduced Temple Run 2. Temple Run took the world by storm in 2011 by introducing us to one of the best and slickest endless run games that continues to stand the test of time and by which all other running games are judged. The sequel brings updated graphics, new obstacles, and player-specific powers, is basically a refresh or reboot, if you will, of the original.
Much like the original, there is no back story. You are dared to grab the idol and run like hell until you die. Temple Run 2 asks you to jump and slide under obstacles, and turn corners and grab coins, exactly like the original. However, this version is a little more challenging as you run up and down hills and run around bends, making that next turn a little more difficult to predict.
The sound is pretty much exactly the same, however there is a huge improvement over the originals visuals. We see more detail in the stones and the background of mountains and the sunset are gorgeous. Also, instead of being surrounded by water, you are high in the sky, with only clouds below you and ultimately your endgame.
While the overall gameplay dynamic remains relatively the same, players will enjoy the new enhancements in visuals and now each character has its own special power.
If you enjoyed the simplicity, and pick-up-and-play addiction vibe of Temple Run, you will love the look and feel and slightly more calenging feel of Temple Run 2. I highly recommend it.
